Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms
By using the EduQuest mobile application ("Application"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not accept these Terms, please do not use the Application.
2. Service Description
EduQuest is an educational mobile application that includes the following features:
- EduQuest: Allows you to create personal study quizzes from PDF and PowerPoint documents.
- EduChallenge: Allows you to create and participate in live quiz sessions to compete with your friends or classmates.
- Classes: Allows you to create and join classes, share assignments, announcements, and educational materials with other users.
- EduNotes: Allows you to create notes from documents (this feature will be added in the future).
3. Account Creation and Security
3.1 Account Creation
To access all features of the Application, you need to create an account. You must provide accurate, current, and complete information when creating your account. You can create an account using the following methods:
- Registration with email and password
- Google account sign-in
- Apple account sign-in
3.2 Guest Access
You can access certain features of the Application as a guest. Guest users have access to limited features and cannot access collaborative features like classes and assignments.
3.3 Account Security
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activities that occur under your account. You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for notifying us immediately in case of unauthorized access.
3.4 Child Users
EduQuest, as an educational application, can also be used by children. Children under the age of 13 should use the application under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian. As a parent or legal guardian, you are responsible for your child's use of the Application and for ensuring they comply with these Terms of Service. Special provisions regarding the protection of personal data of child users are specified in our Privacy Policy.
4. Content and Behavior Rules
4.1 User Content
You are responsible for all content you upload to or create on the Application (documents, assignments, announcements, quizzes, answers, etc.). You should not create or share the following types of content:
- Content that infringes copyright or intellectual property rights
- Inappropriate, offensive, harmful, or misleading content
- Content that damages the reputation of others or is defamatory
- Content that promotes illegal activities
4.2 Classroom and Assignment Integrity
When using the Classes features, you should ensure that classes, assignments, and educational materials are used appropriately and responsibly. Creating fake classes, misrepresenting yourself as a teacher, or sharing inappropriate content within the classroom environment is prohibited.
4.3 Quiz and Exam Integrity
When using the EduChallenge feature, you should ensure that competitive quiz sessions are conducted fairly and honestly. Cheating, misleading, or abusing the system is prohibited.
4.4 Interactions
In your interactions with other users through classes, announcements, and assignment submissions, you are expected to be respectful and constructive, and to avoid behavior that involves harassment or bullying.
5. Intellectual Property Rights
5.1 Application Rights
EduQuest is currently an individual, non-corporatized project that does not yet have formal intellectual property rights protection. However, the code, design, and content of the application are the product of individual effort and work. Although the EduQuest name and logo are not officially registered, their unauthorized commercial use and copying is unethical.
5.2 Usage License
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Application for personal educational purposes. This license does not include any right to modify, distribute, sell, or lease the Application.
5.3 User Content Rights
You retain copyright ownership of the documents you upload, the classes you create, the assignments you design, and any other content you create through the Application. However, by uploading or creating this content through the Application, you grant us a license to use this content for the purpose of providing and improving our service.
6. Data Processing and Storage
6.1 Data Usage
When you use the Application, we will process your personal data as described in our Privacy Policy. Our Privacy Policy is an integral part of these Terms.
6.2 Document and Media Upload and Processing
When you upload files, images, or other media, these are processed and stored in association with your account. Documents used for quiz creation are accessible only to you. When you share content within a class (announcements, assignments), this content is shared with class members according to their roles.
7. Application Features and Limitations
7.1 EduQuest Features
With the EduQuest feature, you can create personal study quizzes from your documents. These quizzes are only accessible to you, and results are stored in your account.
7.2 EduChallenge Features
With the EduChallenge feature, you can create competitive quizzes from your documents and invite other users to these quizzes. You can enable other users to join your quiz by sharing a session code.
7.3 Classes Features
With the Classes feature, you can create or join classes, share announcements, assignments, and educational materials. Teachers can create classes, add students using class codes, create and evaluate assignments. Students can join classes, view class materials, submit assignments, and participate in class activities.
7.4 Guest User Limitations
Guest users can access limited features of the application and cannot access collaborative features like classes and assignments. You need to create an account for full features.
8. Disclaimer
8.1 Warranty Disclaimer
The Application is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not guarantee that the Application will function without interruption or errors. In particular, document processing, class management, assignment submission, and question generation algorithms may not always produce perfect results.
8.2 Limitation of Liability
In no event will we be liable for any direct or indirect damages arising from or related to your use of the Application. This includes results related to educational performance, data loss, document processing issues, or classroom management.
9. Modification of Terms
We may modify these Terms from time to time. When we make changes, we will notify you by posting a notification in the Application. Your continued use of the Application after the changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
10. Account Termination
You can directly delete your account through the application settings. When you delete your account:
- All personal data will be immediately and permanently deleted
- You will be removed from all classes
- Your detailed activity data will be immediately erased
We may terminate your account in the following circumstances:
- Violation of application usage terms
- Breach of our security policies
- Use of false or misleading information
Account termination decisions are at the sole discretion of the application.
11. Class and Assignment Management
11.1 Class Creation and Management
Teachers can create classes, generate class codes, add students, post announcements, create assignments, and evaluate student work. Teachers are responsible for maintaining appropriate and educational content within their classes.
11.2 Class Membership
Students can join classes using class codes provided by teachers. By joining a class, students agree to follow class rules and use the platform responsibly for educational purposes.
11.3 Assignment Submission
Students can submit assignments with text responses and file attachments. All submissions should be original work and appropriately cited when using external sources. Plagiarism and cheating are not permitted.
12. Applicable Law
These Terms are subject to the laws of the Republic of Turkey and will be interpreted according to these laws. Any dispute related to these Terms or the Application will be resolved by the competent courts in Turkey.
13. Legal Status
EduQuest is currently an individual software development project with no formal company structure or registered intellectual property rights protection. The application is created and managed by an individual developer. It may transform into a company structure or obtain formal intellectual property rights protection in the future, in which case users will be appropriately informed.
14. Subscriptions and Payments
14.1 Subscription Plans
EduQuest offers premium subscription plans that provide enhanced features and capabilities. Details of available plans, including price and duration, are displayed in the app before purchase.
14.2 Payment Processing
All payments are processed through Apple's App Store or Google Play Store. Your payment information is not stored by EduQuest but is handled directly by these platforms.
14.3 Subscription Renewal
Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage and cancel subscriptions through your App Store or Google Play account settings.
14.4 Refunds
For purchases made through Apple’s App Store or Google Play Store, refund requests are handled by those respective platforms, and EduQuest does not directly process them.
For purchases made via card through Paddle, payments are subject to a 14-day refund policy for the initial payment. Renewals may not be eligible for a refund. Refunds may not be granted if premium features have been substantially used. Paddle may also issue a refund without prior notice to prevent chargebacks, in accordance with their Buyer Terms.
